We are done mixing and recording 9 outstanding tracks from the fantastic Arms On Fire. No release date has been set yet, but in the meantime you may check out some samples on our project page or head over to MySpace for more. Here’s the preliminary track list:

I think it was back in 1997, we were introduced to a piece of software called ReBirth. Developed by Propellerhead, a small company from Sweden, it swept the feet underneath us (and a few thousand others) by emulating two Roland TB-303 synthesizers, a Roland TR-808, and a Roland TR-909 drum machine all at once. And ah...remember the mods? Then, a few years later came Reason which is an essential part of our setup today.

And now what? They have done what they never said they were going to do, namely audio-recording. Propellerhead Software are introducing Record, which will be available in fall. And although we have absolutely no plans of ditching the ProTools setup any day soon, this looks quite impressing. Mixer with full EQ and all. I guess this might come handy doing outside-of-studio recordings or anything involving a laptop. We’ll see.

Kan Tvang ta en Dungen?
Melodiøs indierock og shoegaze sunget på norsk er, for å bruke Tvangs egen platetittel, noe helt unikt. Derfor er det ekstra moro å kunne konstatere at morsmålsbruken i dette tilfellet spiller på lag med tjukke gitartepper, virtuost trommespill og smakfull harmonikoring. Som svenske Dungen har bevist kan dessuten et eksotisk språk være en større fremmer enn hemmer i internasjonal sammenheng. Tvang har holdt koken siden 2004 og platedebuterte med «Ny morgen» i forfjor, til gode kritikker. Oppfølgeren byr på bedre låter og mer selvsikker vokal, men framgangen skyldes først og fremst den klokkeklare produksjonen. Gjestene Andreas Hunstad (tangenter) og Marita Sørli (vokal) løfter flere spor, først og fremst «Helt alene» og «Noe som bør skje». Og bortsett fra et feiltråkk, floskelfylte «Biler og barn», holder hele albumet jevnt høy kvalitet.

So, finally here it is, our new site up and running, version 3. So what took us so long? Well, time constraint is always a factor, plus we needed a new logo. And this time around, we decided to divide my (Frode) businesses and Runes music-activities by launching three...(yes 3) Sounds Like You sites. This one for music production and two upcoming sites for mac support and web design. And to be honest, this is not the first version of the redesign, far from it. But now we feel at home and just for fun, here’s a screenshot of our previous sites.
